Rethinking Pet Healthcare

Rethinking Pet Healthcare

Rethinking Pet Healthcare

Organization can be a big problem for pet owners. Whether it’s managing incoming and outgoing documents, scheduling checkups, addressing unexpected medical concerns — owners can struggle to stay on top of it. Through careful market analysis, research, and multiple rounds of user testing, I designed an app to helps users stay on top of these challenges.

Challenge

Create a simple, centralized platform that helps pet owners easily manage, access, and stay on top of their pet’s healthcare.

What I Did

UI / UX design, conducted user research, and conducted user interviews and usability testing sessions to inform design decisions and validate concept.

Design

Pairing black text with gray icons keeps the user experience practical and grounded, while the vibrant blue was chosen to embody trust and confidence. The light background blue helps to deliver elements cohesively.

Insight

Pet owners trust vets to manage their pet's health, but desire transparency and autonomy. They're dependent on systems they can't access and availability they can't control. Situational necessity is just as valuable as trust.

Outcome

Through taking this project step by step using the 5 phase design thinking process I was able to uncover real user needs, and design a product that served those needs.
